Tutorial: Getting started with FPT AI Vision Agents

This tutorial takes you from no account at all to your first camera running on the Camera AI Portal.

Prerequisites

  • An account on FPT Smart Cloud's ID system (create one at FPT AI Vision Agents if you don't have one).
  • The latest version of Chrome or Firefox.

What you'll have after this tutorial

An Organization, a Location with synced cameras, and your first Task AI running.

Step 1: Register and get access

  1. Create an account on FPT Smart Cloud's ID system from the FPT AI Vision Agents homepage.
  2. Send your registered email to your FPT AI account manager (AM) to get your usage quota allocated.

Step 2: Access the Portal

  1. Open your browser and go to https://vision-agents.fpt.ai/.
  2. Sign in with your FPT Smart Cloud ID account.
  3. If your account has access to multiple organizations, choose the one you want to work with on the Select Organization screen that appears after login — see Camera AI Portal overview.

Step 3: Choose an Organization

Updated after checking against the live Portal

Creating an Organization is not a self-service action on the Portal (no "Create Organization" button was found during testing) — organizations are provisioned based on the information you sent your AM in Step 1. This step is only about choosing an organization you already have access to. See Managing organizations for details.

Click the organization name in the top bar and select the organization for your business.

Step 4: Create a Location

Create a location under your organization, providing:

  • Location name — e.g. "Gogi Trung Hòa"
  • VMS device code — the code that links to the video management system for syncing

The system automatically syncs the camera list from the VMS when you create a Location. See Managing locations for details.

Bulk creation

Adding several locations at once? Use CSV import instead of creating them one by one — see Bulk import via CSV.

Step 5: Configure your first Task AI

  1. Choose a task type (e.g. People counting in/out, Meeting check).
  2. Set up the daily operating schedule.
  3. Draw an ROI on the camera screenshot — see Configuring ROI zones.
  4. Activate the task.

Full details in Configuring Task AI.

Confirm: check the results

Once the task is active and has data, check:

  • Operations → List Camera — camera status (Camera Health) and number of assigned tasks
  • Reports → Report — generate traffic, presence, and meeting reports (data appears once the system finishes processing that day's video — see the note on data lag in Generating and exporting reports)
  • The bell icon in the top bar — system notifications

Summary

You've created an Organization, a Location with automatically synced cameras, and a running Task AI — enough to start tracking real data.
